U.S.BOMBS/U.K.SUBS – BRAZIL IS CANCELLED TILL NEXT YEAR DUE TO DEATH & RIOTS !

Hi Duane and friends from US Bombs! Hope you’re well.

I don’t know if you’re already aware of what happened here last Saturday during the show of Cock Sparrer we promoted in Sao Paulo. There was a huge fight between nazi skinheads and punks in front of venue, and it ended up with one guy dead and others badly injured.

Local authorities and Police are not encouraging other punk shows for now, as there are threats for more fights between skinheads and punks to happen on the days of the shows. That’s why we were advised by our lawyers to cancel our punk shows this year, and wait for 2012 to reschedule the shows.

I have no other choice but cancelling the tour US Bombs would do here with UK Subs, in hopes to reschedule it for mid 2012.

It’s a real pitty things like these are still happening in Brazil. Kids are losing their times and lives in an idiot fight!

It would be a great tour for both bands, and we had everything already set up, with venues hired and paid for, airtickets booked, visas being processed, hotels reserved, tickets on sale, lots of publicity on streets, etc.

But we really can’t take any risks and work against impositions and warnings made by local authorities.

Shows of Brazil are the most important for the tour and are responsible to make the tour possible. So there’s no way to go ahead with the tour without the shows in Brazil.

I’m really sorry to give you such bad news. But for us it’s also a huge loss and disappointment.

Hope you and band can understand the situation. And hope we can reschedule the shows for 2012.

On Monday we’re going to issue a press release about cancellation of the shows.

Thanks.

Best Regards,

Marcio Faveri

Fight Between Punks and Skinheads Leaves 1 Dead in Brazil

SAO PAULO – At least one person was stabbed to death and three others were wounded over the weekend in a fight involving a gang of punks and rival skinheads in Sao Paulo, Brazilian police said, adding that eight people were arrested.

The fight broke out Saturday night when about 70 young men armed with knives, iron bars, chains and sticks encountered each other outside a music hall in Pinheiros, a neighborhood in the western section of Brazil’s largest city.

Most of the fighting occurred in the street, but the violence spilled over into the establishment.

The youth gangs planned the fight on social-networking sites, allowing police to respond quickly to an emergency call and prevent more carnage, press reports said.

Officers used tear gas to break up the fight and transported four wounded young men to a hospital, where one of them died while being treated.

About 80 members of a goth group, meanwhile, vandalized a cemetery early Sunday in Curitiba, the capital of the southern state of Parana.

The goths, who had been drinking at a bar across from the cemetery, damaged flower pots, statues and gravestones, police said.

Eleven suspects were arrested and will be charged with vandalism, police said. EFE

Gang fights planned on facebook? That’s a wash on the tough guy factor. How does that Cocksparrer song go? “So watch your back when you attack us
‘Coz we might just instant message you.”

This is not an explanation for canceling the entire tour. Only in St. Paul was dangerous. In Curitiba and Rio de Janeiro is all quiet now.

Moreover, if we stop with the Punks Concerts, we lose to the Nazis!

I bought tickets of plane to Curitiba for the Show. Now I will have to go to the Oktoberfest (Blumenau) instead of going to the Show!
